Program Message from Jessica
from Assistant Executive Director Jessica Carter
We can’t believe it’s May! This month, the Early Learning Program team continues its dedication to support our families through these difficult times.
We have heard feedback that some families are craving more insight into the whys and hows of a typical daily schedule at PIC. We are preparing to send you a look at what your child’s day was like. For some, referring back to classroom routines may help you structure days at home. Take from it what is relevant or useful to your own family.
Kharma and Jacob have provided some wonderful articles (see links below) on boredom and regression, which are very normal and understandable during this pandemic.
Teaching teams are reaching out to families to check in. Look out for phone calls and emails from your child’s teachers. Zoom morning meetings and videos continue. You can also participate in other interactive activities such as sending photos to your class listserv. Children, families and teachers love seeing your child’s face and learning more about what they are doing. It keeps us all connected!
Teachers are also sharpening their skills through professional development, weekly team meetings, and other staff meetings. They have been learning about mindfulness, nature play, challenging behavior, taking risks, early engineering, and more!
Feel free to reach out to me at jcarter@parentinfantcenter.org.
We can’t wait to be back together with you and your children at PIC. Take care and stay safe.
