EITC
PIC participates in Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (PA EITC).
Individuals can participate with a minimum contribution of $3,500/year for two years. In return, participants receive a 90% PA tax credit and 10% federal itemized charitable deduction. This has a net cost of $350 for the donor and provides access to a high quality preK experience for more families!
Tax credits for individual giving come available throughout the year, there is no deadline to make a contribution. Contact your accountant to review your PA personal tax liability.
Are you employed by or own a business that qualifies to participate in the EITC program?
For more information or to request the non-binding joinder form to start the process, contact PIC's Development Manager, kstachelek@parentinfantcenter.org.
Recurring Gifts
Recurring gifts allow you to divide your gift into manageable increments through convenient automatic deductions from your credit card. With a recurrent gift:
- You give in a way that is convenient, and sustainable for you
- Make a lasting impact on the children and families at the Parent Infant Center
Employer Matching Funds
Do you work for a company with a matching gift program? If so, your contribution may be doubled. You may request a matching gift form from your employer.
IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
Beginning at age 73, the IRS requires individuals to take a Required Minimum Distribution from their traditional IRA. These distributions are treated as ordinary income on your taxes; however, you can avoid the ordinary income by taking your distribution as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) and directing those funds (annual max of $108,000) directly to PIC! You must be age 70 ½ for the distribution to qualify as a QCD.*
Donor Advised Funds
A donor advised fund (DAF) is a type of account that qualifies as a public charity; charitable donations can be made into the account via cash, appreciated securities, and sometimes more illiquid assets. The contributions can be tax-deductible, and from the account you can recommend grants to your favorite 501c3 charities, like PIC. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals.*
Your fund administrator will need PIC's EIN #: 23-2151143.
Donors with a DAF through Fidelity Charitable are able to transfer funds directly to PIC's bank account through electronic funds transfer (EFT).
