Winter Weather Closings
PIC tries to remain open regardless of the weather, however there are times when we will have to close.
If the University of Pennsylvania closes due to weather conditions, PIC will close. While we use Penn as a good guide when making the decision to close the Center, there are times when other factors, such as the state of the public transportation system and the safety of our staff, must be considered.
If a storm hits overnight, we will make a decision and post it on our website by 6:45 AM and a message will be put on our voicemail system.
Parents may also listen to KYW News Radio 1060 AM or visit their website for school closing information. Our school number is 3018.
If public/parochial schools close during the day, After School children will be picked up and brought to PIC.
If it becomes necessary to close the center early, parents will be notified by phone and asked to pick up their children as soon as possible so staff can also get home safely.
