Climbing & Crawling Breaks Ground

PIC Outdoor Playground Construction
Work on PIC's Outdoor Classroom is progressing! This week, we broke ground on the Climbing and Crawling area.

Before beginning to dig, we tested the height of the step logs that will be installed with help from our "playground specialists."

We confirmed that the logs were a good height and will be well spaced to maximize gross motor skills development—meaning great for climbing and jumping!

These step-up logs will be secured in place beneath the ground and the entire learning center will be installed with a mulch safety surface.

We are grateful for our friends at The Woodlands for generously donating the very large tree trunks that will be used to help delineate our learning centers.

Keep and eye out for Messy Materials and Art areas, as we continue to transform our playground into the Magic Circle, a nature-based outdoor classroom.
