TOMORROW AND FRIDAY Metropolitan Bakery at 4013 Walnut Street is discounting all purchases 13% to celebrate their 13 years of being a part of the West Philly community. They have pledged to match the total dollar amount of discounts from sales on those days and make a gift to the Cindy Fund.
Former PIC executive director Cindy Roberts believed in making high quality child care available to every family regardless of income. Cindy’s family has established the Cindy Fund in her memory to continue her work and support pre-k children on subsidy at PIC.
Metropolitan Bakery owners Jim and Marcy Lilly, were dear friends of Cindy, and Jim's daughter is an After School alumni. She's now 30!
