ArtStart 2015: Passport to the World Oct. 22

Jambo! Bonjour! Ni Hau! Come out to The Collegiate Chapel of St. Andrew (next to PIC) and see it transformed into a magnificent gallery to exhibit the handiwork of all our young artists.

Be ready for an evening of international music and food, drinks, art and exciting silent auction bidding, while you catch up with old friends or really meet that parent you always hold the door open for as you are hurrying out!

Our committee of parents has been busy planning this special evening since July. Chair Lisa Falcone, Elena is in the Bumblebees and Nina is in our After School Center; Robert Chaney, Fletcher and Theo are proud PIC alumni; Catherine Pancake, Eliana is in the Peanuts; Ozlem Onder, Deniz is in the Rainbows and Ada is a proud PIC alum; Reena Rai, Rama is a Moonbeam; David Stotz, Eli is an After-Schooler, and older siblings Abby and Mitch are proud PIC alumni; and Palak Singhee, Jiva is a Caterpillar.

Have an idea for a donation to the evening’s events? It’s the special talents and skills of PIC’s parents, teachers and friends that make our silent auction unique. Some of our most popular items have been a special experience provided by a parent or teacher. Last year’s winner of an "Evening of Babysitting by Leapfrog’s teacher Fatimah Mitchell," Jacquelyn Aveta says about her prize;

“Having Fatimah babysit for us provided that little push we needed to go out on a date. Best of all, Sal and Giulianna really enjoyed their time with Fatimah and did not miss us at all!”

To make a donation to ArtStart, see one of our committee members, email Development Manager Karen Stachelek, or simply download the donation form and return it to Karen. Her office is in the Spruce Building, Toddler level.

What could you bring home? An overnight hotel stay, tickets to a production at The Wilma Theater, a vacation stay in Costa Rica, or lessons to learn how to say “Hello” in Italian. Maybe a donation from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The money raised through ArtStart broadens the impact of our tuition assistance program, strengthens our community, and enriches our programs. The participation of our families, teachers, alumni, and friends each year drives the success of ArtStart and directly benefits children in our classrooms. PIC parents started the fund back in 1986 in order that more families can afford to be enrolled in high quality early learning and afterschool care.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 22, and watch for your invite in the mail! Tickets are $30 per person, and $50 per couple, and will also be available for purchase on our website.
