Summer Leave from PIC
Updated March 15, 2021
Please remember that if you wish to be granted a summer leave, you must complete this online leave form by Friday, March 31, 2021.
Four to ten weeks of absence may be taken between June 12 – August 26.
Please also let us know about any shorter vacation plans to help us with classroom staffing.
Please note, PreK Counts enrollment ends Friday, June 19. If you are enrolled in the PreK Counts program, your child may continue enrollment through the summer. To assist with the cost of tuition, financial assistance may be available through the Child Care Works (CCW) subsidy program or our PIC Tuition Assistance Fund.
From the handbook:
According to our policy on extended leaves noted in the PIC Family Handbook, extended-leaves-of-absences (of four to ten weeks) require a 30-day written request and prior consent from the Enrollment Coordinator. During the leave of absence, families are responsible for payment of half of their current monthly tuition for each month of the leave. An effort will be made to return a child to the same classroom, although space in the same classroom cannot be guaranteed.
Also, you must give at least 60-days notice if you are leaving the center, which includes children leaving for kindergarten.
Completing this Summer Leave online form serves as your notice.
For any questions about summer planning, please email Assistant Director Jessica Carter at jcarter@parentinfantcenter.org until May 1, when Grace Piaña, Enrollment Coordinator, is back from leave. Email Grace at gpiana@pareninfantcenter.org.
