A season of gratitude

PIC preschoolers on the playground

A monthly message by Deb Green

This year, holding onto gratitude feels more important than ever. As we approach the season of giving thanks, I am so grateful for this community.

I am thankful for our…

TEACHERS who we are doing heroic work during this extraordinary time. Through their own anxiety, they are truly going above and beyond for the children and families they love.

FAMILIES who “get” what we need to do to stay open. Families who patiently go through new drop-off and pick-up procedures. Families who express how much they care by staying home for the safety of others. Families who trust and support our work through these tough times.

ALUMNI who remain committed to PIC children even after their family has moved on. Our alumni families are the best and keep our community strong.

Our many SUPPORTERS who stepped up with generous gifts to our critical COVID-19 Relief Fund. And some special call-outs to our ArtStart 2020 Sponsors: The Forman Family Foundation, The City Block Team, STARR Restaurants, Bentley Systems, Betsi and Harold Closter, George and Nancy Shashaty, Barbara and Albert Todd in honor of Naesha Millwood, Yards Brewing Company, and a sponsorship of underwriting by Moore Bros. Wine Co.

And last, but truly the most important, the CHILDREN who bring us joy every day. The children who drive all that we do and the decisions that we make. The children, ALL children, who deserve the very best care and education each and every day.

I believe that by valuing those special things you have today, we as individuals and PIC as an organization will remain open to new things to come.
