Clowns are Back in Town
For the third year in a row, the Mott Campus Clowns have come to PIC to put on a show for our preschoolers. Their show featured sing-along songs, classic clowns skits and comedy magic--all with an anti-bully message.
But, these are no ordinary clowns! They are a group of honors students enrolled at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. They are taking a class called Social Diversity and Civic Engagement, which requires them to develop traditional clowning skills including puppetry, magic tricks, juggling, balloon animals and face painting, as part of a unique service learning experience.
Once again, these clowns have traveled to Philadelphia for a weeklong Alternative Spring Break. In addition to putting on a show at PIC, the students are performing at other schools and Boys and Girls Clubs, as well as appearing in Philadelphia's 144th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
