Items from nature:
- pinecones of all sizes
- shells
- pods
- acorns
- chestnuts
- sea glass
- dried flowers
- wood slices
- interesting rocks
Recycled items:
- empty plastic food containers (ie. ketchup, mustard, sour cream, small juice bottles, etc.)
- sturdy empty food containers (ie. oatmeal boxes)
- egg cartons
- meat trays
- baby food jars
- plastic bottle caps
- spools (especially wooden ones)
- large buttons (the more unusual the better)
- corks
- fabric remnants
- yarn, lace, ribbon or twine
- small boxes
- old calendars
- cigar boxes
- magazines (especially nature, birds, pets and gardening. Love old National Geographic issues.
kitchen items:
- egg beaters
- potato mashers
- rolling pins
- funnels
- basters
- measuring cups
- scoops
- small pots or pans
- egg timers
- restaurant menus
household items:
- napkin rings
- coasters
- lace doilies
From the hardware store or garage:
- paint sample cards
- countertop samples (laminate/granite)
- large nuts and bolts
- large washers
