Book Fest 2022 Welcome
Assistant Director Jessica Carter and Enrollment Coordinator Morgan Jimenez welcome you to the 2022 Children's Book Festival, an event of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at PIC.
Join this week-long virtual festival (Feb. 18- 25) bringing children, families, and staff together around diversity, children's books, and a love of reading.
Read-Aloud Videos
Central to the Book Fest are the many read-aloud videos recorded by PIC teachers and staff that families can watch together.
Daily Emails
PIC families will receive emails each day with links to read-aloud videos that reflect our daily themes of Love Makes a Family, The Story of Your Name, Proud to Be Me, Food from the Heart, Embracing Culture through Tales.
In each email you will find also find conversation starters and activities to help deepen discussions on diversity and inclusion at home. Plus check out additional story selections for your family to read together.
Take & Tag #PICBookFest
We want to see pictures of families reading books together. Take pictures of you reading or enjoying the many read-alouds. Post on social media and tag images (#PICBookFest). Email them to risaacson@parentinfantcenter.org to be featured in the Monday Mail or on PIC's Facebook page.
