Jahnaya "Sugar" Peyton
Jahnaya "Sugar" Peyton comes to PIC with over seven years of experience working with young children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Sugar believes in exploration, discovery, and play-based learning, while establishing mutual boundaries and autonomy with children. They find this to align with PIC's approach.
Sugar enjoys being a caregiver and an educator. They are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children, using patience, respect, and effective instruction techniques to support their individual needs.
Sugar grew up in New York City, went to college at Rowan University in New Jersey, then moved to Philly. They currently live in University City.
Outside of PIC, Sugar is an independent filmmaker specializing in documentaries and short films. They are a self-taught crochet artist and fashion designer that makes costumes, clothing, and accessories. Generally, Sugar loves to create through all mediums, including painting, mixed media art, fiber arts, sculpture, candle making, and more.
