Metropolitan's big gift to PIC
We recently were given a very special gift from Jim and Marcy Lilly, owners of the University City Metropolitan Bakery & Cafe.
For the second year, Metropolitan celebrated the store's anniversary by holding "Cindy Days" in memory of their good friend and PIC's former Executive Director, Cindy Roberts.
On April 27 and 28, customers received 13% off all purchases in honor of Metropolitan's 13th year in business! Once "Cindy Days" were over, the Lillys matched the total dollar amount of discounts from sales on those days.
Their 2017 gift of over $1,300 more than doubled what they raised the year before!
"Cindy Days" at Metropolitan were established last year and we are so very grateful to Jim and Marcy for their continued support and connection to PIC.
The gift from Metropolitan will support PIC's Cindy Fund, which was established by Cindy's family in her memory to help PIC support pre-k children on subsidy at PIC. To date the Cindy Fund has raised over $32,000!
