Executive Director

Jamila Carter joins the Parent Infant Center with more than 20 years progressive experience in human resources, education, and non-profit management. Her career in early childhood education began as a parent volunteer when she discovered the magic of early learning experiences where children’s natural curiosity is supported through play.

Jamila's path to leadership was organic and she has held many roles, including PreK teacher, PreK director, and most recently, Executive Director of Jubilee School.

Jamila holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Lincoln University and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. She completed her master's level practicum at a preschool for children on the autism spectrum.

Jamila's experiences as a parent, in the classroom, and in leadership cemented her passion for the early years, and cultivated environments that inspire curiosity and creativity, and center on the joy of learning.

Jamila loves the outdoors and connecting with nature as much as she loves children, and birding is one of her favorite pastimes!
