Through the generosity of individuals, corporations, local businesses and foundations, we support a range of high-quality, community-based child care and family-centered programs.

Each October we celebrate creativity and community with ArtStart, which brings together parents, staff, alumni, and friends to enjoy a wonderful exhibition of children's art, food and cocktails, silent auction bidding, and fun to help raise funds for tuition assistance, programs, and major initiatives.

ArtStart 2016 breaks box-office records!

On Thursday, October 20, PIC's Lights! Camera! Auction! ArtStart fundraiser officially surpassed the record for the top-grossing year of all-time! In addition to raising much-needed funds for tuition assistance at PIC, the evening received rave reviews!
The record-breaking figure of $40,000 is a significant jump over past years. Much of this success is owed to the tireless efforts of this year's ArtStart chairperson Mary Beth Fedirko (pictured right) who gave an award-winning performance on behalf of the children and families at PIC. The boost in revenue came from stellar sponsorship support, which more than doubled over any previous year.
At this year's event, more than 200 parents, alumni, friends, and staff gathered for a glamorous evening celebrating the golden age of cinema. Guests were warmly welcomed by a red carpet, the paparazzi, photo booth fun, the premiere of PIC’s latest film, and live music from the Philadelphia-based band City LoveSee event photos!
This year's ArtStart all-star cast of sponsors included:

FS Investments

Jeff "City" Block

Starr Restaurants

Desai/Mullins/Balamuth Families

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Tim Sabol and Judd Flesch

Bluestone Construction Company

Pepper Hamilton LLP

Tired Hands Brewing Company

The evening also featured an elaborate buffet dinner generously donated by Alex Yuen from Beijing and amazing appetizers by STARR Restaurants.

Additional food and drink were provided by PIC families and area businesses, including Blarney Stone, Merry Poppings Popcorn, Metropolitan Bakery, Moore Bros. Wine Company, Novick Brothers Corp., Pasqually’s Pizza, and Yards Brewing.

Event Chair Mary Beth Fedirko (Myles is in the Peanuts) guided an amazing committee made up of PIC current and alumni parents: Chris Bole (Kieran is in the Sunshines), Mariclair Partee-Carlsen (Ruby is in the Bumblebees), Chris Collier (Zachary is in the Caterpillars), Lisa Falcone (Elena is a Sunshine and Nina is in the After School Center), Jan Koziara and Kimberly Lippman (Joseph is a Wild Thing), Dawn Mercurio (Reed is in the Peanuts), Palak Singhee (Jiva is a proud PIC alumni) and David Stotz (Eli is in our After School Center and Abby and Mitchell are proud PIC alums).
We thank all of our Room Parents for doing such an amazing job on the classroom creations--baskets and collaborative art projects. Thank you to the parents and friends who came out before the event to help mount and hang art work, clean the chapel, and set up auction tables, as well as those folks who helped at the event. Of course, we wouldn’t have had such a wonderful event without help from our dedicated staff. Everyone played an important part and we thank you all!
