For over three decades, the Parent-Infant Center has provided high quality child care to the families who live and work in the diverse neighborhoods of West Philadelphia.

Emmanuel Harris

Assistant Teacher
My goal is to spread social and emotional awareness and create a warm loving learning environment for children to flourish.
After completing his summer practicum here, Emmanuel "Manny" Harris knew that with its progressive style and Reggio Emilia approach to learning, PIC was something he would like to be apart of.
Manny's passion for young children started at a early age. He is the oldest of his brothers and sisters, which he credits for developing his nurturing and loving spirit.
In 2015, Manny moved to Philadelphia to embark on a new journey in life. He had the opportunity to work with some of the best children in North Philadelphia and was motivated to pursue an associates degree in Early Childhood Education. He plans to continue his education in Spring 2019.
Manny believes that with love, unity and compassion, communities can thrive. For him, working at PIC creates opportunities where he and the children can learn about the different worlds that we all come from.
In his own words, "Working with children gives me a purpose and I feel like there's no other career that can bring joy to my life than this."
Born and raised in Washington D.C., Manny currently lives in West Philadelphia. When not at PIC he is either laughing, writing, playing music, or spending time with family.
