Marcherie Brooks Bey
It is the light in children’s eyes when they master a skill that inspires me.
Marcherie Bey joins PIC as a Lead Teacher in the Butterflies preschool classroom. What Marcherie likes most about working with children is the impact she can have on families for generations to come.
Marcherie was interested in working at PIC because of the mission and values of the organization. When she learned about its commitment to nature-based play, community involvement, and its teaching staff, she knew it was a place she wanted to work.
For her, PIC was a place where children, families, staff, and the community receive support. As an early educator, she believes that in order to provide children with quality care, it is important to have a strong support system in place.
Marcherie earned her undergraduate degree in Urban Learning with a Multiple Subject Credential from California State University. Currently she is working on earning her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a Pennsylvania Certification.
Marcherie recently moved back to Philadelphia from California. She currently lives in West Philly and is the mother of eight children. When she's not at PIC, she likes to spend time with family, go camping, travel, read and shop!
