In the Classroom
Classroom activities celebrate the wide variety of cultures among us. From learning about different holidays, to inviting relatives to the classrooms to present family traditions, customs, and special foods, to taking a trip to the library for a special storytime, PIC teachers strive to broaden each child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
In the Center
The Board's Diversity Committee leads the PIC community in its efforts to create an environment where all families, staff and friends feel welcome. The committee has articulated its committment in its Diversity Statement. While diversity is ever-changing, PIC feels it is important to identify and recognize some of the ways in which diversity can be celebrated: race, ethnicity, economic status, religion, language, gender, sexual orientation, family model, education level, abilities, learning differences and age.
