The After School Center
at PIC serves children in grades K-6 who attend area public, independent
or parochial schools. Our program offers time for homework assistance,
outdoor free play, and a variety of special-interest clubs such
as cooking, writing projects, carpentry, sports, arts and crafts,
science and community service. We offer full-day care when children
are released early and on school holidays. Holiday care often includes
special activities or trips to nearby points of interest. Families
may enroll for 2-5 days per week, or for school holidays only.
In the 2008-2009 school year, we provide transportation from Greenfield, Masterman, Middle Years Alternative, Penn Alexander, Powel, and St. Francis de Sales.
Parent involvement is an integral part of the PIC community and all families who enroll agree to make an investment of time in the work that we do. The Parent Participation Program (PPP) volunteer requirement for families enrolled in ASC is 10 hours per year (6 hours for single parents).
The After School Center is accredited by the National AfterSchool Association. For more information, see our brochure (PDF). |
